About[]
The Casual Championship is the fourth belt spanning all VGCW shows (third in VGCW itself), introduced on the January 1st, 2013 Broadcast. It debuted in a Scramble Match where the wrestler who had the most pins in 20 minutes was rewarded the Championship.
The Casual Championship is the secondary title in the male side of the league, added as an alternative to the VGCW Championship and is generally contested for by wrestlers on the lower spectrum of the card.
At first, the Casual Championship wasn't highly respected among the VGCW universe, unlike the VGCW Championship. Some claimed that Casual Champions were nothing more than jobber champions, given the usual caliber of contestants picked to compete for it.
However, the belt gained a great deal of prestige when Red won the title and was able to have more successful defenses than any champion in VGCW history. Following Red's loss of the Championship, Segata Sanshiro continued his legacy, succeeding Red in having the longest reign of all time, while having plenty of success himself. With that, some feel that the Casual Championship is the most prestigious in the league, even moreso than the VGCW Championship, which is often passed from challenger to challenger in a game of hot potato.
Since Segata's reign came to an end at the hands of Dracula, the belt kept changing hands without a single defense until Air Man took the belt.

Champions[]
Waluigi[]
The belt was debuted on 2013-01-01 in a Championship Scramble match featuring Donte, Sonic, Egoraptor, Ash Ketchum and Waluigi. Waluigi entered last and won the match by getting the last pin, pinning Ash Ketchum. He also successfully retained on 2013-01-13 by defeating #1 Contender Ezio Auditore.
Guile[]
Guile successfully became #1 Contender for the Casual belt after pinning Liquid Snake in a Six-Man Battle Royal held on 2013-01-16. The very next day, Guile became the next Casual Champion after scoring a quick victory against Waluigi in a Ladder Match.
After successfully obtaining the title, Guile went on to retain his title against #1 Contender Duke Nukem in a brutal singles match that aired on 2013-01-28, a match which would lead to the later creation of Team America. He would later lose the belt in his next title defense against Ash Ketchum, on 2013-02-22.
Red[]
Ash Ketchum became #1 Contender for the Casual belt by winning a six-man elimination match on the 2013-02-18 show, a bout in which he eliminated four out of a possible five opponents. Ash used the momentum from that contest to defeat Guile in a fast and furious match on the next show to capture his first title in VGCW at long last.
After the match, Ash evolved into Red, and then became the first Casual Champion to successfully defend his title more than once. Red won title matches against Mario, JonTron, and Wario before Dracula assumed control over VGCW and named Majin Vegeta the new #1 Contender to the Casual Championship. However, the Saiyan traded his title match to Dan Hibiki, and Red faced Dan in a brutal Extreme Rules match on 2013-04-17. Many weapons were used, cameras destroyed, and a lot of Dan's blood was flowing. Red eventually forced Dan to faint as he tied Ganondorf's all-time record of four successful title defenses.
His next title match would be against Barret Wallace, a man who had fought just as hard as Red had to turn his career around, on 2013-05-08. The match was even, both fighters trading tit for tat to the point that both men were busted each open within seconds of each other. In the end, the Giga Impact DDT claimed another victim of the Blood Red champion, giving him his fifth consecutive title defense, an all-time VGCW record.
Captain Falcon looked like he would be Red's next victim on 2013-05-23, but something unexpected happened. Falcon took it to Red with a flurry of Falcon Punches and, in the end, Big Blue caused Red to white out after a vicious barricade break. The countout win, however, meant that Red was still the champion as a belt can only change hands on a pin or submission. After recovering in a Pokémon Center, Red went for redemption in a non-title bout on 2013-05-29, but the result was the same. A barricade break caused Red to later be lost in his own confusion and, while he tried to use Roost on the top turnbuckle, Falcon tossed him from the top rope and pinned him for the first time since his evolution.
Big Blue's offense being super effective against Red, Falcon wanted to make sure there would be no chance of escape in their third and final contest inside a cell on the Season 4 finale. The clash was violent. The cage was used as a weapon on numerous occasions, but Falcon's last punch was caught by the young trainer as he finally managed to hit the Giga Impact at full force to send the challenger down at long last. After the match, the two shook hands. Red had not only retained his Casual title, but in doing so, he had earned the respect of his toughest challenger to date and brought his total number of title defenses to six.
But the total would not go any higher as Segata Sanshiro shocked the world by defeating Red just before the trainer could get his eighth badge on 2013-07-20. Whether it was karma for choosing to play with toys instead of the Saturn months ago back before he had evolved or was just all the beatings finally catching up to him, Red's run as champ and quest for eight badges had finally ended. At 148 days, Red's title reign was the longest in VGCW history.
Segata Sanshiro[]
In the Season 5 premiere, Segata overcame three other men in an elimination bout to earn himself a title opportunity against Red, the boy that had held the belt for nearly five months. Red took the early advantage, but Segata managed to make a comeback after feeling the full force of the Giga Impact and finally earned himself a meaningful win against a Nintendo character, taking home the title on 2013-07-20.
Segata, like all Casual Champions before him, was able to successfully defend his title at least once by defeating Duke Nukem on 2013-08-30. He then managed to become only the second Casual Champion to successfully defend his title more than once by beating Barret Wallace at End Game 5.
His next defense would be against fellow Sega star, Knuckles the Echidna, on 2013-12-03. Both men had a lot to prove in this one with each taking the other's best shots. In the end, Segata finished off the challenger with a new secondary finisher, ensuring that his reign would surpass Red's for longest in VGCW history.
Another noteworthy fact about Segata's reign is his constant expeditions into other territory, competing in a number of non-title matches against any man willing to challenge him. He has defeated former VGCW Champion Dr. Eggman and participated in the Co-Op Division where he defeated The Elite Two with his former partner Ryo Hazuki. He has even won a multi-man bout in the form of a Fatal Four Way Steel Cage match against bonafide main eventers like Kefka and Mr. Satan. A true fighting champion.
In the battle for Japan at End Game 6, Segata faced off against his toughest test to date as he took on Goemon. After having his own finisher stolen, the champion became enraged and dumped Goemon right on his head, knocking him unconscious. With four successful defenses, the question many were wondering now is if Segata was poised to break the all-time title defense record of six that was held by the boy he had defeated back in July.
Dracula[]
The Prince of Darkness himself faced Segata in a non-title match on Febuary 25th, coming out on top in the end. A week later he was given a shot at the Casual Championship to make the previously booked singles match between Sanshiro and the #1 Contender Waluigi into a Triple Threat. Segata was pinned by Dracula again, thus ending the former champ's 227-day reign and making The Prince of Darkness the fifth Casual Champion in VGCW history.
Waluigi (2)[]
Dracula's reign over the Casual Championship would prove to be short as Waluigi took exception to the Prince of Darkness's intrusion on his title match. The People's Champion demanded a rematch to be held on the date of the Royal Rumble on March 25th. When the match began, it turned out to be a TLC match, and after a grueling struggle, the People's Champ grabbed the title from on high to claim victory. Too bad for Dracula, it was Waluigi time once again. Waluigi had become the first two-time VGCW Casual Champion in the history of the program.
Gray Fox[]
The Cyborg Ninja came into a Fatal Four Way match on April 8th as the odds-on favorite to take the fall. Instead, he would surprise quite a few by pinning Wario to earn a shot at Waluigi's newly-won gold. That match would take place at End Game 7 where Gray Fox would show his resilience by kicking out of The Lousy Elbow only to follow it up by hitting his own leg drop finisher. It would be enough to cause a second straight Casual Champion to fail in defending his title while giving Gray Fox his first taste of gold in VGCW.
Captain Falcon[]
After winning End Game 7's opening bout the week before, Captain Falcon was entered in an Over-The-Top-Rope Battle Royale to determine the Casual Championship's #1 Contender on May 20th. Falcon outlasted the three other wrestlers and earned a match against Gray Fox the very next week. The battle between the two was incredibly close. Despite getting hit by a Blackout and a Stealth Ryder by Fox, Falcon stayed alive and started a comeback. After a sequence of counters between competitors, a devastating Knee of Justice put down Gray Fox for the three count. It may have taken a year longer than many thought it would, but Captain Falcon had finally become Casual Champion.
Air Man[]
Air Man built up a solid resumé for himself with a few singles wins. This allowed him to be placed into a Triple Threat Tables match with Heavy and Chief Arino on June 17th. Even though his record in triple threats had been 0-for to that point, Air Man managed to steal the bout by slamming Arino through a table in the corner. On the next show, Captain Falcon would fall prey to the Air Shooter to continue the current Casual Champion defenseless streak and give Air Man his first title in VGCW.
Air Man was able to win a non-title match against Vegeta, but his first chance to end the fan-named "Saturn Curse" came on August 19th against longtime nemesis, Red. It was fast and furious fight, but Air Man shot down any hope of a comeback and title change with his patented Air Shooter. At End Game 8, Air Man ended Barret Wallace's hopes of finally gaining the belt with the same move. After his next defense, a very short match against Octodad, it was decided something needed to be done about Airman.
Dan Hibiki[]
It was deemed by the then temporary GM Bazza McMahon that Air Man was too strong for for the casual league, and on December 16, 2014, at the Money in the Bank PPV, a match was set. It was a 6 man ladder match for the casual title, if Air Man won the belt would be vacated and Air Man would become Number 1 Contender for the Main Belt. In the match, While Octodad was distracting Air Man, and fellow opponents Ebisumaru and M. Bison were fighting outside the ring, Dan saw his chance, quickly hitting Johnny Cage with a ladder and then climbing up to claim the belt before many had even realized what was happening.
Knuckles The Echidna[]
To the surprise of many fans, Knuckles the Echidna had begun a hot streak of his own, and was given an opportunity to defeat Dan for the championship on January 13th, 2015. Although Knuckles was expected to be defeated, he instead pulled an upset victory, smashing Dan through a table and claiming the belt.
Dan Hibiki (2)[]
Dan, however, was not happy with the outcome, and had tricked Knucklehead into giving him a rematch at End Game 10. After a heated fight, Knuckles was soundly defeated, and the title returned to Dan.
Chief Arino[]
The Kacho had earned his championship match after winning a four-way with Groose, Bowser, and Johnny Cage. However, Knuckles had felt he deserved a rematch, as he had done the same for Dan before him. Dan consented, and Knuckles fought Arino to determine the #1 contender. After defeating Knuckles, Arino would use his own kind of headgames, calling for the fans to cheer for him, and psyching out Dan before their match. This combination of strategies, combined with a ferocious attack on the martial artist, would lead The Chief to his first taste of singles gold on March 31st.
